In the winter semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, the University of Ruse welcomed 76 Erasmus+ students from 26 universities across 10 countries: Armenia, Italy, Spain, Jordan, Malaysia, Romania, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey, and France. In the same period last academic year, 70 students from ten countries were hosted.
On October 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM, in room 2.101, the University of Ruse held an official meeting for the new Erasmus+ students.
They were warmly welcomed by the Rector's leadership and local Bulgarian students with a traditional bread and salt ceremony, followed by a lively Bulgarian folk dance.
During the event, the Erasmus students showcased their home countries in a creative and engaging way, offering the audience a unique cultural experience.
For the fourth consecutive year, there has been a positive trend where students who originally planned to stay for just one semester decide to extend their stay for a second semester after experiencing the excellent academic environment. The number of students opting for a full year of study is rising - 24 this year, compared to 19 last year.
It's also exciting to say that the University of Ruse is expanding its international partnerships and each year, more students are joining through the Erasmus+ program. This semester, the largest group comes from Spain, with 33 students from 12 different universities.
